Dr. Thadpong Pongthawornkamol is the Managing Director and Head of the Machine Learning team at Kasikorn Business-Technology Group (KBTG), Thailand. He leads a high-impact, multidisciplinary team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI researchers, pioneering innovation in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive digital transformation at KasikornBank, KBTG, and across the broader financial ecosystem. Under his leadership, the team has delivered groundbreaking advancements in business analytics, customer experience, and process automation. In 2024 alone, they successfully implemented more than 80 AI and analytics projects for KasikornBank. Notable achievements include the development of THaLLE—Thailand’s first open financial large language model, capable of passing both the CFA and SET IC exams—and AINU, the country’s only in-house facial verification technology compliant with iBeta Level 2 global standards for both active and passive modes. Dr. Pongthawornkamol is currently leading KBTG’s enterprise-wide Generative AI transformation, aimed at boosting productivity and enhancing customer experience under the “Human-First, AI-First” strategy. Key initiatives include the deployment of AI assistants and agents for software development and IT operations, along with the creation of an in-house multi-agent platform to streamline agent development and orchestrate complex workflows.
